Aerox 100 problems

Riding to work the other day whilst slowing down , the engine cut out & it stopped quickly, it would not turn over by starter or kick start. I took the side case off & turned the engine backwards by hand. everything then seemed OK but it would not start, after trying for a while the engine jammed up again. I then tried turning by hand again, it wouyld turn half turn each way or so, each time turning a bit further until totally ok again, but it still won't start.I definitely have a spark & fuel is getting to the carb, occasionally it will back fire when trying to start. There is pressure at the exhaust when cranking & if the spark plug is removed the cranking speed increases & the pressure can be felt coming out of the plug hole. Any ideas why it won't start & what might have caused it to jam/seize

Are you sure you have enough compression????, use a tester, don't trust your sight or ear, this sounds like a piston pin circlip broke and its seizing your cylinder, your engine wont start if not a good compression.

Not sure you should be concerned with compression right now.
The engine is jamming, or was. I'd take it apart and maybe you
can fix it cheaper now, than if you try and make it run again like
it is.

I was just wondering if the compression is massively down, is it worth fixing or trying to get hold of an engine from a damaged scooter from a breakers

Parts shouldn't be expensive to fix yours. I put a new piston,
rings, wrist pin, bearing, all for under $50 US from the dealer.
It all depends on what you find when you take the cylinder off.

Might be a good time to upgrade cylinders, maybe for cheaper
than you could get a whole used motor.

My motor can run with 100lbs compression. Don't know how
low you can go.
