Base Timing

Ok, I have a new Italkit racing ignition but it doesn't give any basic settings.
Anyone know of a safe base timing setting in MM or degrees before TDC?
This is for a Malossi Big Bore 77 kit.

Malossi is 2.25 MM btdc if that helps.

It is 1,3 mm before tdc i think 95% sure

(base setting)

it is different base settings on different Ignitions, just so you know, you may know it allready but just saying

Thanks guys... I know different ignitions probably use differnt settings, I will go with the 1.3 to start with... better safe than sorry

I have had no luck getting any info from Italkit

I made a research and found out that 1,4 is the base setting but not som much differens from 1,3

i was nearly right.

No guys, it is bettwen 0,8 and 1,3=)
what crank do you have and what rod?

Hebo crank with the standard length rod

The ignition is the Italkit with the "curva" box to retard the timing at high RPM's

_p3mp_ Swedish Idiot.	It is 1,3 mm before tdc i think 95% sure (base setting) it is different base settings on different Ignitions, just so you know, you may know it allready but just saying Last edited by _p3mp_; 05-07-2009 at 10:12.
