Derestriction Questions
As some of you know, I have a Piaggio Purejet SR50. I have a question
regarding the variator derestriction. When the vario spacer is in, the bike will rev at 9.5k RPM, and go ~30MPH. When the vario ring is removed, the bike will lose 1500 RPM and rev to 8k, but the speed increase to ~50MPH. I don't understand this completely. Where did the 1500 RPM's go? Is it possible to get them back, and gain more speed? Also, there is a metal plate in between the manifold and reedblock. Is this a restrictor, or does it have another function? |

Did you get new, lighter rollers in your vario? Something like .5 - 1g lighter should do the trick.
If the metal plate blocks the space between the holes of the manifold and the reeds then it is a restrictor, if it doesn't - then it aint one. Take it apart and see for yourself - I personally haven't had any contact with these injection engines so I don't know where the restrictors (besides the ECU and the vario) are.. __________________ |
