Help: Speedfight & Trekker engine compatibility...

Hello

Have question regarding Speedfight & Trekker engine compatibility...

1. Anyone knows, are air-cooled & liquid-cooled variomat casing (crankshaft housing Left & Right) are compatible??? (let's say on Speedfight)

[img][/img]

& IMPORTANTLLY - can I combine left part (bigger - variomat) with right part (smaller - exhaust holder pictured above) from another engine???
(are they factory bored together - like car engine main bearings in block)

2. Has anyone did engine transplant from Trekker (in)to Speedfight??

The reason I am asking these, is following: I bought Speedfight 2 with his "usual" desease...:

I'd welded this aluminum holder, but unfortunattely holder & exhaust were thrown away... (by previous owner servicer...)

Since my Speedfight is liquid-cooled, I just glanced over one AC Trekker in depo, and at first glance, did't seems same (compatible) to me...

So... If anyone have any expirience....

thanks

Do you maybe know, why piston have such "shading" - pictured below ? (on car 4-stroke engines that is indication of piston ring overwear)

- Is it same with 2-stroke engines (1. piston ring gap clearance is 0,40 mm & 2. piston ring gap clearance is 0,35 mm)
- is this O.K. or it needs to be replaced?

So I need this part now & exhaust (muffler - silencer) - any idea where to look?

- I'm thinking to weld non original aluminum part, rather than finding used one, (since original is so un-reliable, anyway...) & maybe put some DIY exhaust...

- can you recommend me where to find any info regarding 2-stroke exhaust theory (backpressure, flow, etc....)

If you have any suggestions they're welcome...
