CPI GTR 50cc Bone stock... Ok, I removed the exhaust canister from the engine, and when you try to start the scooter with the kick start, I got ALOT of gas coming out directly from the exhaust... Somebody ever saw that? I think logicly it would be carburetor related... Mukini carb... I can take picture... I need help lol... Thanks guys! |

UPDATE:
Ive removed the carb from the engine intake, and removed the air box, The line were the fuel come, the fuel always flow... I think its not normal, could it be the kinda valve or regulator right after the gas tank? (its the only thing between the tank itself and the carb...) Thanks... |

Fuel petcocks on these bikes are famous for going bad. I would check that first! It also uses a fuel sender that's built into the petcock so you may want to be careful if removing it. The GTR is a fun bike, and it's got a lot of style, but unfortunately they are not always made with the best quality components. I have worked on a lot of these though. Hope you don't ever have to change the gas tank... it's a bugger!
You're right, it's not normal. Where are you located? You can probably get a new petcock, but one thing that you have to be careful of, is to hold the brass part where the petcock screws on while you take it off. Otherwise, you run the risk of twisting the brass fitting inside of the fuel tank plastics, which can cause a leak. I shaved down a cheap wrench (I think it's 16 or 17mm) to hold this fitting while removing the fuel petcock nut. ~Josh Cheers! ~Josh __________________ |
